ProSoft Technology

Description

The ProLinx Rockwell Automation remote I/O adapter to modbus master/slave gateway creates a powerful connection between devices on a remote I/O network and modbus devices. This standalone DIN rail mounted protocol gateway provides one remote I/O port and up to four serial ports. The RIO interface is an adapter (slave) which can be connected to a scanner (master) that controls the data transfer. The module also supports limited high speed data transfer via the input and output images. The modbus protocol driver supports master and slave implementations of the protocol. All modbus serial ports are individually configurable, providing a very powerful and flexible host or device interface solution.
ProSoft Technology Gateway, RIO Protocol, 500 mA at 32 VDC Power Output, 4 Ports, 5.2 in H x 2.07 in W x 4.52 in D, Environmental Conditions: 5 to 95% Non-Condensing Relative Humidity

Application

For the many applications where remote I/O connectivity can be used to integrate modbus devices into a system, industries, especially the manufacturing, oil and gas, electrical power and food processing

Standards

Ex Certificate | CB Safety | CE Mark | Russian GOST-R | UL/cUL Class 1 | Div 2

Features

  • The remote I/O gateway is a powerful module designed with both client and server support, enabling easy connection to Rockwell Automation PLCs (CLX, SLC, PLC, CPLX, and similar devices)
  • In combination with the modbus device support, the module provides a very powerful interface to the many modbus devices which are in use in the industrial marketplace today
  • The ProLinx module contains an internal database that consists of areas for application data, status information, and configuration information internal database
  • The internal database is shared between all ports on the module and is used as a conduit to pass information from a device on one network to one or more devices on another network
  • The data area is used to store and retrieve data by the protocol drivers and for data exchange between protocols, the database is used as a source for write commands to remote devices and holds data collected from the remote devices
  • Commands defined in the configuration file (stored in the configuration data area) control how the data is to be handled in the database
  • Status data area is used to store error codes, counters, and port status information for each port
  • Configuration data area contains module configuration information such as port configuration, network information, and command configuration, this configuration file is downloaded to, or uploaded from, this area
  • 24 VDC nominal, 18 to 32 VDC allowed, positive, negative, GND terminals, 2.5 mm screwdriver blade power supply
  • Power and module status, application status, serial port activity, serial port error status LED indicators
  • DB-9M RS-232 only no hardware handshaking configuration serial port
  • 10 base-T half duplex RJ45 connector, link and activity LED indicators, 1500 Vrms at 50 Hz to 60 Hz for 60 s electrical isolation, EtherNet broadcast storm resiliency equals less than or equal to 5000 frames/sec and less than or equal to 5 minutes duration
  • Modbus plus connector two DB9 female standard modbus plus connectors are application ports
  • 2500 Vrms port signal isolation per UL 1577, 3000 VDC minimum port to ground and port to logic power isolation serial port isolation
  • Rockwell Automation remote I/O to modbus master/slave gateway
  • 5.20 in H x 2.73 in W x 4.52 in D extended
