Floating shaft couplings are used to connect units which are relatively far apart. Such arrangements are particularly suited to transmit power into areas where moisture, dust or corrosive conditions would adversely affect the driving machinery. Floating shaft couplings' operating speeds are dependent upon the length of span required. Refer to the speed/span table for speed recommendations. In addition, special balancing may be required for high speed service or for extended shaft lengths.
