This week is National Engineers Week, and it’s a great time to celebrate how engineers make a difference in our world. This unique, week-long event helps increase public dialogue about the need for engineers and bring engineering to life for kids, educators, and parents.
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is seeking public comment on an updated version of its voluntary Safety and Health Program Management Guidelines. First published in 1989, the guidelines are being updated to reflect modern technology and practices. These guidelines are intended to help employers establish health and safety management plans at their workplaces. Key principles include finding and fixing hazards before they cause injury or illness and ensuring workers have a voice in safety and health.

City, DRMA team up to host manufacturing summer camp
Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky earned high marks in an annual manufacturing report, demonstrating the strength of the manufacturing and logistics industry in the tri-state area. Conexus Indiana and Ball State Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) released their annual Manufacturing & Logistics Report Card last month, grading each state in several areas of the economy that affect the success of manufacturing and logistics, including the health of the manufacturing and logistics industries, the state of human capital, the cost of worker benefits, diversification of the industries, state-level productivity and innovation, expected fiscal liability, the state climate, and global reach.
