Description

Ruland zero-backlash jaw couplings are lightweight, have low inertia, and have high dampening capabilities for use in applications with hard starts and stops such as optical inspection systems. This 85 Shore A spider is a component in a three piece design which mates it to two aluminum hubs. It can be used with any hub that has an OD of 1.000" (25.4mm). This spider is made from polyurethane and has 85 Shore A hardness for the highest level of compliance with limited torque capabilities. The complete coupling has a balanced design and can accommodate speeds of up to 8,000 RPM. This jaw coupling spider is RoHS and REACH compliant.

Under normal/typical conditions the hubs are capable of holding up to the nominal torque of the spiders. In some cases, especially when the smallest standard bores are used or where shafts are undersized, slippage on the shaft is possible below the nominal torque of the spiders.
