Description

Ruland disc couplings are a lightweight low inertia zero-backlash coupling commonly found in responsive systems on semiconductor, solar, test and measurement, and printing equipment. This clamp type double disc coupling is made of two anodized aluminum hubs, a center spacer, and thin stainless steel disc springs creating a coupling with high torque and torsional stiffness capabilities. It has 10mm x 8mm bores, 25.4mm OD, and 34.9mm length. The disc springs are flexible enough to allow for all forms of misalignment while remaining rigid under torsional loads. It has more misalignment capabilities than single disc couplings of equivalent size. This disc coupling has a balanced design for reduced vibration at high speeds of up to 10,000 RPM. Hardware is metric and tests beyond DIN 912 12.9 standards. It is RoHS and REACH compliant. This disc coupling is made from bar stock sourced exclusively from North American mills and manufactured in Ruland's Marlborough, Massachusetts factory under strict controls using proprietary processes.

Note 4:Torque ratings for the couplings are based on the physical limitations/failure point of the disc springs. Under normal/typical conditions the hubs are capable of holding up to the rated torque of the disc springs. In some cases, especially when the smallest standard bores are used or where shafts are undersized, slippage on the shaft is possible below the rated torque of the disc springs. Keyways are available to provide additional torque capacity in the shaft/hub connection when required. Please consult technical support for more assistance.
