The TRITAN UCFCX series medium duty 4 bolt piloted circle flange ball bearing unit features a cast iron housing and a ball bearing insert with flinger seals and set screw lock. It is designed to be mounted onto bearing surfaces perpendicular to the shaft axis. The housing is made of cast iron for rigidity and vibration damping and has a solid base for mounting stability. The double-sealed, deep-groove ball bearing insert is made of through-hardened chromium steel and is appropriate for applications with moderate radial loads and light thrust or combination loads. It has a wide inner ring on both sides for increased shaft support and reduced inner-ring tilt for smooth operation. The insert bearing has a sphered outer surface that allows it to self-align within the housing & compensate for misalignments. It also has an anti-rotation pin in the outer surface that prevents the bearings from spinning within the housing and ensures smooth performance. Steel-reinforced molded rubber lip seals with flingers on both sides of the bearing retain the high quality multi-purpose lubricant and deflect contaminants away from the seals. ~~ The bearing locks onto the shaft with two set screws spaced 120 degrees apart for a three-point contact hold. Set screw locking is suitable for low to moderate speed applications where the shaft rotates in a single or reversing direction.
